Mark Pentecost or know to our distributors as Coach Mark, just wanted to make another $500 a month to support his family. He wound up getting bitten by the entrepreneur bug and becoming a millionaire. in another company, before It Works.
Mark, a husband and father of three had been a math teacher and varsity basketball coach in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in the early 1990s and the idea of having a few more dollars at the end of each month moved him to look for sources of revenue beyond his teacher’s paycheck.
“We were dreaming. There were more things we wanted,” says Pentecost, now 56. “I was one of those guys that always read the books on how to get ahead. I loved reading biographies of other people that had done it and I was always trying to look out for how we could make extra money. Luis's passion for research and development in the skin care, nutritional, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology industries began when he was a child. He developed a keen interest in natural remedies from his grandmother's personal recipes. Later in life, Luis nurtured that passion into the development of a new kind of product he named phytoceuticals cosmetic products. Products that prevalently use raw, natural ingredients from plants and produce real therapeutic benefits.
Including his experience as the CEO of a top pharmaceutical company, Luis is an international renown herbalist and a university educator of phytotherapy. (the uses of plants for medicinal purposes) He has a personal interest in natural solutions.
Luis is the man behind the body and skin care line at It Works! His hands-on approach to developing naturally-based skin care and nutritional products for It Works ensures strict quality standards. Luis also has a specific passion for skin care, inspired by his own former battle with skin cancer. He poured his knowledge of botanical science into his vision to develop the best skin care line available, aiming not only to prevent skin damage from the environment but also to repair it. The resulting products became the exclusive, botanically-based It Works skin care line.

Dr. Don Velhurst, M.D, Cheif Science Officer
Commonly known in the It Works family as "Dr. Don", he has an extensive background in researching the effects of nutrition and natural remedies on today's common health issues. He has taught and lectured on these topics and his "10 Steps to Better Health" for over 20 years.
Dr. Don received his M.D. from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Don lectures in schools, churches, and businesses. He is a regular guest on television and radio programs across the nation. He also has a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Michigan in 1978
